nice informative introduction

I just starting admiring lighthouses, so I am not professional and I do not have a lot of books about lighthouses. This book attracted me because of its shape, 6x13 inches, but vertical like lighthouses. It is almost 100 pages, divided into four sections, 1) Conical & Cylindrical - 2) Octagonal, Square & pyramidal - 3) Electric & Victorian - 4) Reef, Caisson & Screwpile, lighthouses. Each sections start with 2 pages discussion/introduction. The following pages have pictures of the lighthouse and 10-20 lines description of it. Most of the lighthouse pictures occupy half the page, or occasionally the whole page. I found this discussion very informative to a beginner, like myself. The photographer is excellent and talented, I just cannot wait to visit my nest lighthouse. I wish that were another index by state/location, not just alphabetical index
