A Lexus Enthusiasts Dream Book

I am a huge Lexus fan and this book satisfied my every expectation! I now value my Lexus even more than I did prior to reading it. Lexus went above and beyond that of its competitors to ensure their first vehicle, the LS, would be a success and appealing to the luxury car buyer. Their precedence in approach to customer service is outstanding and I believe it to be a large part of their success today. I have a new understanding of Lexus' slogan "The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection" and have determined Lexus to be a redefinition of luxury. I highly recommend this beautiful coffee table edition book to the enthusiast, owner, or individual interested in how Lexus has come to be a leading dominate force in the U.S. luxury car market.

LExus really changed the car industry

The story of LExus is a case in the history of car market ,globalization and strategic implementation. It is a must read for strategist or owners.

Very nice book and informative

Nice book to look at, even has a real lexus emblem on the cover! Amazing how Lexus started with $1 billion and a dream to change the luxury car market and the way dealers treat their customers. To give you an idea, GM's Saturn started with $3.5 billion investment that it still has not recouped. Before Lexus everyone, including bmw & benz owners were treated like crap and they cars sucked, I remember when a 1991 Benz 300E was 55K and a fully loaded LS was $40K. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the book left out how the IS300 was a really bad joke and a huge failure (they rushed a toyota altezza to market to compete with bmw 3 series and diluted the entire lexus line in the process) In addition they left out how first generation the ES250/ES300 were just glorified camrys. At least they acknowledged that the original GS300 was a failure. I would also like to point out 2 more mistakes lexus as recently made, they released a 3.0 liter GS300 in the US (which should have been the GS350 like it is in Japan) and underpowered 2.5 liter IS250, which should have been 3.0 liter IS300 to compete with the 3.0 liter bmw 325 (keeping the 3.5 liter IS350 is fine, except they didn't give it a manual tranny). If they really want to take on the BMW 3-series they need to get in the mindset like when the original LS400 came out, scared out of their mind.

Right from the horse's mouth

I just started reading this book, and if you're a Lexus fanatic, you'll love it. This isn't some 3rd party writing this, but from people directly involved w/ Lexus/Toyota. Denny Clements is one of the authors. Excellent stories (so far), and pics (beautiful!)
