Amazing book with Amazing graphics!

I just wanted to say that I thought this was one of the best children's books that I have seen and read in a long time. All the way from the story line to the Graphics. It looks like it came from a movie! Pixar style! Anyway...It keeps straight to the facts of the story in the bible even though it has the western twist to it. All of my little brothers and sisters enjoy reading it and want to read it over and over again. GO MILLER BROTHERS!!!

Fun Take on the Story of Gideon for all ages!

This is a wonderful book and would make a great gift for special kids in your life. Our three-year-old girl loves it and wants us to read it over and over. This is a great retelling of the story of Gideon. The western theme is fun, the illustrations are top notch and the moral is to not allow fear to stand in the way of doing what is right. I highly recommend this!

Just in time for my grandson

This new series is just in time for the next generation of kids who need great books that are both captivating visually and that communicate with a simple and clear message that kids will find understandable and encouraging. I love the look and the message of Gid the Kid.

Appealing 3-D Artwork and Rhyming Story Captures Children's Interest

This retelling of the Gideon story in a "wild west" setting is truly ingenious! Lots of details added to the artwork on each page. Younger children will enjoy finding the hidden geckos in the scenes. The rhyming storyline is well done and adds to the overall appeal. The 3-D computer generated artwork reminds me of Pixar production. Overall it is a book kids will want to read again and again. The lesson of standing up for what is right, even in the face of bullies is a lesson worth teaching our children. The discussion questions in the back of the book help bring home the message in a personal way. I hear there are going to be 5 stories in this series. I'm anxious to see the next book due out in January. In the meantime, Gid the Kid makes a great Christmas present.

You will love this book! It tells the biblical story of Gideon and how important it is to have faith and trust in God, through a very creative and entertaining story set in the "Old West". Much like the Veggie Tales series used different situations to retell important biblical stories and their important overlining messages of faith and trust in God, the Heroes of Promise series sets itself in the American Old West Days, to show how God can help people through any trial or tribulation in life. Lets start with the artwork, the graphics are just sensational! The colorful 3/D animation is first class with so much happening in the background of each page you can sit with your child and pick out many different things going on in the background. All printed in a high quality hard back book with beautiful dust cover. Second the writing style is very entertaining, as it is written with a Suessical rhyming pace that is very creative and flows off the tongue for a fun read with your kids. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, the story itself is a great moral tale of how to have trust and faith in God can help anyone to face and conquer fears that may come your way. An important and terrific moral message to help guide your kids. On the final page the writers have added different discussion questions to interact with your children and a reference to the biblical story of Gideon on which this tale is based, as well as a recipe to make your own Black Bean Chili! This is a great read with your kids or in the Christian School classroom. Loved the book, you will too! Can't wait for the second book in the series!
