The Lead In Your Pencil: A History of Pencil Hardnesses

Nobody has ever purchased a pencil, they just get them from work. From humble beginnings in the 16th century pencil manufacture has now reached several billion a year. Most pencils are yellow and you no longer go mad if you chew their yellow paint. This little volume looks at the lead in your pencil.

Not a serious book. A joke, it would seem.

Any entity that sells this should be ashamed. This is not at all a serious attempt at being an informative work. I guess it’s supposed to be funny, but the joke is on the buyer. I wish there’d been a review of this before I’d added it to my order. It’s 30 (many partial) pages of nonsense using a giant font. You could read it in its entirety while standing in a long supermarket checkout line and still feel you’ve wasted your time.
