Published in 1991, it offered a refreshing validation and new found hope for those reared in unstable dysfunctional families. It is still relevant although most of it has been incorporated into the newer text along with a much needed step study process and stronger emphasis on recovery rather than identification.

Very good material if you are just starting your recovery journey. It pretty much tells why you are embarking on this journey and what to expect on the journey so it is quite useful as a guide. Don't expect it to give lasting answers to the ways of life though.
