The Last Warrior

Black Lion has been chosen by his people to be the one to break the curse of the Thunder God. Taking a family member's place in a Wild West show traveling to England, Black Lion knows that his successful alleviation of the curse is imperative and his family is counting on him. With the weight of the tribe on his shoulders, Black Lion searches for his destiny - a woman who can sing a song he is unable to. She must sing the song, he must hear it. Then they must sing it together in order to break the curse. Black Lion thinks he has found such a woman in Suzette Jocelyn. Indian folk lore and magnificent scenery stand out in The Last Warrior. Suzette and Black Lion's attraction to each other is instantaneous and steamy. The looks they gave each other were hot enough to melt chocolate! For a great American Indian historical romance, The Last Warrior is the book to read. Sweeping across two continents during its storyline, The Last Warrior will leave you smiling at the end. It was just that magical. Talia Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

superb brisk Indian romantic fantasy

The Lost Clan tribal bands are cursed to live in the ephemeral realm between life and death because their ancestors killed four of Thunderer's children. Two days a year the Chosen One will live on the mortal plane as he is the tribe's only hope for them to escape the curse, but the crosser must perform a heroic sacrificial deed by the time he is thirty or the tribe remains locked in the shadows. In 1892 Black Lion as the Chosen One joins Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show touring England. Backstage he meets Suzette Joselyn, the daughter of opera singers. They are attracted to one another, but fail to act on their feelings because she is engaged to another. He returns to America heartbroken but with more resolve to save his people as his quest comes before his heart. When her fiancé dumps her a pregnant Suzette crosses the big pond hoping to find her loved one. Karen Kay completes her Lost Clan saga with a delightful final entry that will elate fans of the series (see RED HAWK'S WOMAN, THE SPIRIT OF THE WOLF and THE ANGEL AND THE WARRIOR). The story line is action-packed as the couple falls in love but each has reasons to ignore what their heart is telling them. Using Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show provides uniqueness to this superb brisk Indian romantic fantasy. Harriet Klausner
