A Thrilling Sequel to 'The Last Disciple'

"Helius, Nero's most trusted advisor, anticipates the death of his sworn enemy, the legendary warrior Gallus Sergius Vitas, scheduled to die a gruesome death in the arena. However, the badly beaten man who appears in the amphitheater is not who he seems." A thrilling second book in the last disciple series, the book has so many interesting plot twists the conclusion will surprise you, and leave you searching for the third book!

Preterist? who's a Preterist?

It is the unfortunate effect of going against a "main stream" Idea when someone --trying to expound some biblical truth through the most easily accessable medium of fiction-- is attacked with false accusations based on incomplete fact finding, and preconcieved venom spawned by ruthless acts of propaganda. First of all, No where in this series is it mentioned that Christ returned at all after his resurection. It is absurd to draw that conclusion in light of the forward/afterword of both books which clearly explains Hank's view point, and his in adherance with either preterism, or even PARTIAL PRETERISM. instead he calls his escatology Exogetical Escatology, which means escatology which comes as a result of carefully and contexually studying the scriptures. Dont fall prey to misinformation. read for yourself.

Finally the correct form of eschaetology

Before I begin my review, I would like to say a few words concerning Kevin M. Newby's negative review on this book. In his ignorance and stupidity, he go's a thousand feet off the deep end in saying that this book is not scripture-based and that it is no more than "a fiction book that you would find in Borders." My dear brothers and sisters, for your sake do not listen to him. He says to read the Bible for what it really means, when he himself does not. Anyways, this book is amazing! After reading all 13 books in the left behind series, and then when reading The Last Disciple and The Last Sacrifice I came to conclusions that The Last Disciple series is way more scripture based then the Left Behind series. Interesting fact: the Left Behind series does not have one scripture concerning end times which leaves his entire series inaccurate, inconsistant, and most of all unreliable. Not so with the Last Disciple series: Hank Hanegraaff explains it accurately and precisely so that you would understand it. Don't miss out, or you will regret it.

DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU'RE OF THE PRETERIST SCHOOL OR A FUTURIST

I HAVE READ BOOK ONE (THE LAST DISCIPLE) AND HAVE YET TO READ BOOK TWO DUE TO MY LEANING TOWER OF PISA READING LIST. I MUST CONCUR W/ MICHAEL THOUGH, REGARDLESS OF WHAT SCHOOL OF ESCHATALOGICAL THEOLOLGY YOU ARE A PROPONENT OF, THIS SERIES HAS A WEALTH OF HISTORIC DETAIL THAT PAINTS A VIVID PICTURE OF FIRST CENTURY PALESTINE, ROME, AND ITS SUBJECTS OF GREAT DIVERSITY. YOU CAN FEEL THE POLEMICS OF THE DAY, ONE GETS A GREAT GLIMPES OF WHAT A VILE PERSON NERO CAESAR TRULY WAS, AND I BELIEVE THAT THE LINEAGE OF THE ANTICHRIST STARTS W/ THE CAESARS. I DO BELIEVE SOMEHOW THAT PRETERIST THEOLOGY, AND DISPENSATIONALISTIC (FUTURISM IN A NUTSHELL) THEOLOGY CAN WORK IN CONCERT, IF ONE WILL ONLY FREE THEIR MINDS OF DOGMATIC BOUNDERIES. IN CLOSE Yeshua ha' Mashiach IS GOD'S ANOINTED, OR IF YOU WANT ME TO GO ANGLICAN ON 'YALL JESUS SAVES!!! GOD BLESS

A must read either for fiction enjoyment or eschatology debate

I am not writing a review about the events in the story, just go and read it. First, Tim F. LaHaye probably can't handle debates about his attack on this book or series. It great that the same publishers produce both sides of the debate. I think it's great for the Christian church and if he thinks that this position( Partial Preterist view) is not biblical he shouldn't be acting the way he has. He can comment and give is disagreements but not misrepresent Hank. Second, This book does a great job in continuing the story of the Last Disciple. The story is great and gripping. I can't wait till the next one is out. It teachs you on how the first century Christian might have had view and use the book of Revelation in the first century. Even if you disagree with it, you have to wonder how the Christian responsed to the book of Revelation. How was it relevant to them? We do it now and all Christian have done it through out history. It's great for the debate and if your a futurist and you think you might not like it, just pick it up and read it as what might have happen in 1st century. I have watch all the left behind movies and planning to watch the new one even though I disagree with it it's still can be view as great Christian entertanment. Good work..

exciting thriller

Once Vitas was part of Nero's inner circle until at a feast he tried to choke the emperor because the ruler planned to have his way with his wife Sophia, a follower of Christos. He was supposed to be sent to the arena to die but a group of powerful Romans set in motion a plan that would have someone else take his place while he was sent to Alexandria, with John, THE LAST DISCIPLE who wrote the letter of revelation on Patmos. The people who saved Vitas believe he has a chance of killing Nero once he gathers the puzzle pieces that they sent to various people in the empire and deciphers them. Vitas doesn't know that his Sophia mourns his death, not even receiving comfort from her belief in Christos. Damian, Vitas' brother and a slave hunter is looking for John to return him to Rome but Vitas convinces him to help him on his journey to Caesarea and Jerusalem to find out just what his saviors hope he can accomplish to rid the empire of an insane monarch. This second book in The Last Disciple's series is an exciting thriller as Vitas tries to stay one step ahead of his enemies while trying to figure out what role he is to play in toppling Nero from the throne. The authors have done such a good job of historical research that the audience will feel like they actually witness the events that occur in the novel. Thus readers will find this book so educational and entertaining they will finish it in one sitting. Harriet Klausner
