Simply Irresistable!!

For some reason I kept hearing Robert Palmers song as I read this wonderful book. It was so CHARMING....Peter is just a living DOLL!! Can I have one for my birthday??I giggled so with poor Leslie's exasperation...I fear I will have to reread this one soon, just to savour the great writing...so refreshing!!

Sensational!

What a story! Katherine Deauxville has really outdone herself on this one! THE LAST MALE VIRGIN is MUCH more than JUST A romance novel! Katherine has done some remarkable writing, here, weaving her meticulous research on the intricacies of the Washington, DC political and social scene - and the details of a lesser known primitive tribe from a remote part of the world - into an action-packed story of international intrigue and PASSIONATE love. The story touches on some important ecological issues, and presents a plot so engaging that the book is impossible to put down. The characters are strong and exciting, and the premise keeps you guessing, almost until the end. IS Peter Havistock REALLY a virgin? What was the REAL reason that this anthropologist came to the U.S.? To promote his treatise on "Determining Anthropological and Developmental Social Factors Among the Papua New Guinea Aborigines of the Antorok Valley?" OR - to woo Leslie, acting head of the 'dignified' Washington, DC-based international foundation that sponsored the U.S. lecture tours of such 'greats' as Goddard and Albert Einstein? What POSSIBLE motivation could Peter have? WHY does he seem to have such a penchant for stripping down to a 'costume' not much more substantial than a G-string? IN PUBLIC???? And what happens when Leslie realizes that this man, destined to become the love of her life, has deceived her to promote his cause? WHEW! This book is SPECTACULAR!

The Last Male Vifrgin

Having surepticiously viewed the conduct of ladies while they watched all-male reviews I can appreciate Ms. Deauxville's candid and clever foundation for the character, Dr. Peter Havistock. Her handling of the New Guinea locale and the pidgin language is skillful. As she weaves the story, from the fatal airplane crash with the loss of both parents; advancement through puberty on to his adult life without shame for his body and absence of sexual promisquity is excellent support for the mystery the reader will uncover. The Last Male Virgin is one of those books you cannot put down without wondering: What next? I liked it,found it moderately sensual, funny, serious and well worth recommending to others. Great cover, but far better on the inside. Don't cheat, read this one from page 1 to page 355. The ending will be your reward.

A fun premise with a message

I thought the premise was a breath of fresh air. Ms Deauxville's hero was a captivating delight and quite unique in a very sexy intelligent sort of way. The premise was uniquely funny. I found myself chuckling throughout the book at both his antics and their innocense. And if there was any draw back to the read, I did want to shake the heroine a bit, because she just couldn't get over wanting to please her family instead of herself. I think at times she was a bit whiny and a bit self depreciating. But when you get to the final pages, she very nicely redeems herself much to the hero and reader's delight. Very unexpected and the imagery was very well done. Her hero is destined to be a favorite of many a reader; so male, so alpha but oh so interesting complex. This one should be read because it takes humor and romance to new heights along a journey that is just plain fun made all the more desirable because it is well paced with a clear resolution at the end.THE LAST MALE VIRGIN is a wonderful place to escape to for an afternoon of humorous bliss.

Great book, funny

I loved this book....I have both books, "Out Of The Blue" AND,and" The Last Male Virgin" Katherine Deauxville has one outrageous sense of humor and her books move right along, I myself while enjoying both books, LOVE the last male virgin...it was funny, fast, amazing in that, the amount of research that katherine deauxville does, and very, very imaginative. While this is not my usual type of book, the cover intrigued me and after the first page, I was sold...I HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone who loves to read something light once in a while but at the same time..quite the happy ending...and that is so refreshing these days...I eagerly anticipate more from her...
