THE LAST HOUSE ON NEEDLESS STREET by Catriona Ward This was an *experience*. I usually listen to audiobooks while doing other things, but I had to sit and pay attention for the last half of the book. If you don’t have the time/patience to be fully engaged in this story I’d skip it. Focus is needed because you’ll miss seemingly insignificant yet important details. Ted, Dee and Olivia (and Laura), kept me guessing and questioning everything. At one point I stopped what I was doing to exclaim, “WHAT?!”. Then I had to go back and listen again. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in a dark, psychological horror with multilayered characters that’s both haunting and heartbreaking, this one is it. Highly recommend! Note: Narration by Christopher Ragland was excellent! IDK how he managed to do multiple, distinct voices/characters so easily, but I was impressed. Rating: 4.75/5 ⭐️

Question Everything You Think You Know

This book is a masterfully constructed work of art that will have you fully absorbed into the story from the very first page. A reclusive man and his cat. A missing girl and her sister trying to track her down. Each chapter provides insight from each character's perspective, slowly peeling away layers of truth until we come to a radical climax in which all of the pieces seamlessly lock into place. The author takes us on a journey twisting and winding with mystery, horror, and suspense, yet still leaves us with a glimmer of hope and a satisfying resolution.

You have to read this book!!! I have never felt so many emotions in one book. This will stay with me

So many emotions! Promise you'll read it!

Book that make you want to shake it until it reveals its secrets

Starts out a little weird but there is something incredibly lovable about the main character, Ted. Even as things start to get darker and darker it’s hard to shake the feeling that your missing something big. Incredible final twist. One of those stories where you have all the information you need but still don’t put it all together. One of my new favorite authors for sure. Super super creepy but with a solid ending relating to the sadness of dealing with trauma

I had a hard time putting this book down.

Excellent writing. The characters were so alive. I enjoyed the new perspectives. This story had me hooked from the beginning and all the way through. I had a hard time putting this book down. I was unaware of Catriona Ward prior to this book being recommended to me. I will certainly be checking out more of her work.
