an excellent reading experience

Henry Smith's "The Last Campaign" is an excellent depiction of some of the bit players of wartime, in this case nine German soldiers returning to their country in 1945 from the Russian front. The story reminded me of some of my own Army highjinks so many years ago. This is a great "guy book".
