Strange, dirty, funny, and disgusting

I'd bought this book as a teenager from K-Mart because I thought the cover was funny. WOW, a story of a new york jew, a perverted, smoking, drinking, drug-using creature who is down on his luck, but still manages time to stalk and peep on his neighbor. I dont remember the rest of it, other than the descriotion of the worst stereotypical thing you could imagine viewing on stage in a gay bar. He somehow made it funny, haha.
