This book of 96 pages,is pretty short as far as books about the Templars goes. It is however a good, clear summary of them and profusely illustrated. The Templars have a long and complicated history filled with fact, legend and speculation. Furthermore, being a secret society, naturally leads to much unknown and much contrived by others. There seems to be connections between the ancient Masons, going back thousands of years;as well as connections to present day Freemasonry and countless other Societies, many that remain secret. The author, who has a background in Art and History ,uses her skills and knowledge to tell and show with excellent art and illustrations, the story of the Templars in about the simplist, concise and understandable manner that you are likely to find anywhere. If you have ever read much history, especially, that of the Middle Ages, you will find it very complicated and even confusing; a couple of hours with this book will help put it all into perspective. It would also be a valuable resource for anyone who ,while not partiularly fond of history, likes to read fiction of Europe and the Middle East during Medieval Times. The book comes with an excellent, detailed Index and a good Bibliography with numerous sources or further reading.
