Book Overview

Since its first publication, The Kneeling Christian has helped hundreds of thousands of believers discover the key to God's treasure house of blessing.

This classic book on prayer, written by "An Unknown Author" sometime before the 1930s, answers the most basic and often-asked questions Christians have about prayer:

How shall I pray?What is prayer?Must I agonize?Does God always answer prayer?Who may pray?

Prayer, though...

What was missing in my Life

The true art and importance of prayer missing in my life has now changed My love and power received through God.

Did not receive this book, even though ordered.

Unhappy! Very unhappy! 0 stars if it were possible. I did not receive this book even though it is what I ordered. I received instead Christian beliefs - Twenty basics every christian should know by Wayne A. Grudem edited by Elliot Grudem . I very much wanted what I ordered as it was recommended to me by an elder pastor. I do not need nor want what I received. I will be putting in on free book table at church.

Awesome!

This book changed not only my prayer life, but it helped me see several people close to me come to be saved! The language is different...like old english or something and you have to take your time with it. But it is SO worth it! I've bought about twenty copies of this book and given them to friends and family. Outside of the Bible, you can't find a better book!

The most influencial book on Prayer I've ever read

My title says it all. This small book is big on the theology of prayer. But it isn't written in a text book manner. Instead, this "unknown Christian" simply goes to the Scripture and points out to the reader how important prayer is to the life of a believer. The first chapter alone gets your attention. In it the author states that a person's greatest regret, once in heaven, will be to look back and wonder why he or she didn't pray more. When a person realizes how much can be gained by praying, it should astound us that we don't do it more. This is one of the few books I own that is such a classic that I read it every year. It never grows old, because its message is truly timeless. I highly recommend it to new and older Christians of every persuasion!

To Pray is to Live

Is there simpler truth than to Pray is to Live? I believe that the author of The Kneeling Christian would say no. This little book is moving in its plainness and powerful in its simplicity. Every Christian should be a Kneeling Christian.

A "must read" for Christians desiring a powerful prayer life

An Unknown Christian expresses eloquently the reasons God calls us to prayer; what prayer is; the awesome power of God and His right to receive all honor and respect from His children; hindrances to prayer, and God's incredible promises to those who pray with a pure, unselfish motive for the sake of His Kingdom. This book has been an exceptional encouragement to me, and any Christian who reads it, I believe, will be taught more about effective, fervent prayer that touches the heart of God. The author addresses real issues which we all must grapple with and settle in our own hearts if we are to pursue a deeper life of prayer.
