A really good debut!

I’m extremely impressed by this book, I was sucked in since the first page, and it honestly didn’t let up on the suspense or action. It’s a really well built and described fantasy world that you get pulled into! The characters were extremely engaging and told the story well, the authors writing style is definitely one I enjoyed. Some things that people might be annoyed about are the extreme bits of dialogue, there’s a lot of scenes that are strictly talking, I don’t mind it. It’s more of a tell sequence than a show, but they’re done extremely well and pull you right in. Another thing that might be a con is the length of the book, it’s a little over 600 pages, so for some people that might be a lot, i however like big books, especially if I like the world its set, it’s more time spent in that fantasy world. Really well done novel!

Kingdom of Liars is a pretty good debut

This book is definitely my favorite type of genre and I have rarely found a book that I did not like. I was first drawn in by the cover (which is gorgeous) and how it tells its own story. I really enjoyed Kingdom of Liars with its Fabricators ( I hope we get into more detail about how they work in the next book) and shattered moon (which I really want to know how it got shattered since that was only alluded to in the story). For a debut, it is pretty good. Michael Kingman, whose story this is, spends most of the book trying to find out the truth about whether his father actually is innocent or guilty of killing the prince so many years ago. His journey was exciting though I did get a little tired about how the reason that he made so many choices was that he was a Kingman and that is what Kingman did. I guess it is a good thing to be loyal to your family but I don't think that everything you do should be because you are a part of it. I kinda wished he would take after his brother and sister sometimes but then that would ruin the plot. Since this is the first book in a series, the end was left pretty wide open and is definitely not a standalone. I would probably keep reading it because I really want to find out what happens with the Kingdom of Hollows and whether Michael can get to the bottom of the whole sordid mess.
