A brilliantly written, fast-paced, spine-chiller is Joe Bright's The Key. The action in this unnerving story does not end until you turn that very last page. Blended with all the action and intensity of the plot is the witty dialogue which is replete with sarcastic repartee and humor. Step by step, from beginning to end, are the well-developed brave and undaunted characters, but center stage is the most despicable, cunning villain you will love to hate. Twisting its way through the streets of London, back and forth through time, your interest in this tale will never wane nor will you ever want it to end. But, beware, do not read The Key late at night as you might find yourself, as I did, trying to fall asleep hidden under the covers with all the lights on. I am ready for the next one, Mr. Bright!

The Key, the sequel to Joe Bright's previous book, isn't The Reflection part II. It's storyline is quite independent from the first. Pace, storyline and character development are what I look for in books, in that order. The pace is excellent, the storyline is complex but not convoluted and the characters are people you grow to love (and hate). The ending catches you off guard so don't even try to guess.
In the genre of Michael Connelly and Clive Cussler

Pure fun... Bright's ability to up-date the past with the actions of the present lends fresh twists to this unrelenting thriller. Combine a chilling villain, an obsessive chase, some romance and crisp dialogue and you have Joe Bright's latest and best novel to date!!

What if you had the opportunity to take revenge on all your enemies without their knowledge, in fact,in the past before they became your enemies? Meet Maxwell Raleigh, the most opportunistic villain since Jack the Ripper. Max will lead you and his would-be captors on a wild chase from the Beatles Sixties Liverpool through modern day London. Mr. Bright is a master of the 'what-if' story, sometimes humourous, sometimes shocking , but always mesmerizing!

"The Key" is an absorbing combination of sci fi time travel and thriller that will rivet you to its pages right up to its' shocking conclusion. The Key introduces Maxwell Raleigh, the most original, intelligent and sexy villain since Hannibal Lecter. You may find yourself rooting for this evil wit as he dances ahead of his would-be captors through time. Wonderfully crafted with a memorable assortment of characters, I highly recommend this wonderfully entertaining book!!
