Book Overview

Be a healer. Learn how to help others--or yourself--find emotional and spiritual healing after an abortion.

In this book, you will learn why women and men experiencing unresolved grief over a past abortion feel trapped. Unable to express their pain or seek the comfort of loved ones. On one hand, they fear that those who are pro-life will condemn and reject them. On the other hand, they fear that those who are pro-choice will deny their need to grieve and reject the reality of their pain.

Prepared with input from experienced post-abortion counselors and clergy, this book will teach you how to break through these and many other obstacles which prevent post-abortion healing. You will find in this book comfort and direction for yourself, your loved ones, and your acquaintances.

Learn the seven steps involved in post-abortion healing.
Become a "stealth healer," providing hope to those plagued by unresolved abortion grief--even if their abortions are still being kept a secret.
Learn how a message of compassion toward those who have had abortions will unify your community and reduce hostilities between those who are pro-choice and those who are pro-life.
Use dynamic examples of God's mercy and forgiveness to create a healing environment in your church community.

While useful for anyone interested in post-abortion healing, this book is especially directed toward ministers and clergy. It solves the difficult problem of how to preach on the abortion issue in a compassionate and unifying way. It provides background information on post-abortion issues, compelling testimonies, sample sermons, and an extensive directory of resources.

Abortion Hurts, Christ Heals -- But What is the Church Doing?

The Jericho Plan brings to light a vital area of ministry that is missing (to a great degree) in the modern Church today...the area of recognizing and helping those in our midst that continue carrying the unbearable pain of a past abortion. The Church should be a safe place for the mothers, fathers, grandparents, extended family, friends, medical and clinic staff and clergy that have been wounded by abortion to share their pain and to receive love, compassion and hope for reclaiming their lives. We preach forgiveness, but we don't live it within the walls of our churches. We preach love and mercy, but turn a blind eye or deaf ear to these wounded by abortion in our midst. Just the mere silence of our church leaders on the topic of post-abortion pain for those that bear the grief, shame, guilt, and unrelenting emotional pain of a past abortion confirms the reason for their shame. We must begin speaking about abortion in our churches, and not simply on behalf of the unborn. We have to be an advocate for the living survivors of abortion. The Jericho Plan is vital to understanding the issue and knowing how to speak to it in a way that promotes healing, compassion and reconciliation. Buy two copies: one for yourself and one for your pastor. Spread the word: Abortion hurts everyone it touches, Christ heals the brokenhearted, and WE in the Church are His hands and feet to that end.

Great for understanding & healing.

This book is wonderful. Filled with rich compassion, non-judgementalism and gives us women who have chose abortion our dignity. He challenges the pro life community to be more compasionate, more understanding, not knowing the full circumstancs each woman goes through. There are testimonies in the back of the book, I found helpful. This book is also great for clergy; of any faith. We women are teachers, doctors, mothers, friends, the walking wounded. We need much healing. Our greiving is done in secret. This book helps to identify our greif and help others who are going through the same. Very loving, very compassionate book.
