And now, a gentile's perspective...

I recently purchased this book as a bat mitzvah gift for a young friend, and couldn't help reading through several chapters myself. I was very impressed with the breadth of topical advice, which is presented in a very lively and engaging manner. The authors did such a skillfull job demonstrating the relevancy and beauty of Jewish traditions and history that, raised as a Christian, I found myself becoming a tad envious of the heritage! I definitely recommend this book as a worthwhile read.

Well written, Enjoyable and Easy reading

My daughter asked me to get this for her after she heard so much about it in school from her friends. I ended up reading it myself right after she finished it. We both enjoyed it immensely and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It was insightful and has even helped me better relate to my daughter during this changing time in her life. Enjoy!

This book is an excellent coming-of-age guide

JGirls Guide is a fabulous blend of Jewish wisdom and frank discussions on modern issues facing all Jewish girls/women. The authors use Jewish stories, customs and passages from holy texts and really apply them to confront modern problems such as body image, self-esteem, tikkun olam and sexuality. Each chapter also includes suggestions for reflection and exercises to help the reader engage with the topic. This is an invaluable guide for all Jewish girls and women.

This book should be read by parents alike to help us identify with present day teenage issues. This was a great book! It was very insightful and I felt it was written specifically with me in mind. I think it's helped me become more in touch with my Jewish soul. JGirls Guide is a book written for my age group that makes me look forward to taking my place as a Jewish woman.
