One of the best "user friendly" books on awakening I have read!

The Isle of Is reads like a fairy tale being told by a wonderful and very wise and lovable person...and what you find out very quickly is that person is you! I have read many books on spiritual truths, but none where the the tools for conscious awakening were illustrated with such creativity, simplicity and humor. I found it fun and enlightening to do the suggested exercises, particularly one about identifying life metaphors and transforming them. I have experienced a profound shift in the way I see life since having read this book.

Having read several "self-help" books, The Isle of Is was a pleasant surprise. At first glance, I thought it was too simplistic and lush (visually) to be of any use. But after a few chapters and a few exercises, I was on the journey. My eyes were open to synchronicities that must have always been there, and I may actually be able to mediate more than a few minutes at a time now. This book, opposite of simplistic, continues to reveal layers of information, practical advice, and spiritual wisdom. My journal has never been more interesting.

A clear guide to inner awakening

If you havent read a whole lot of other books on being centered and finding your divine presence, then this is the one. Thom and Caroline guide you through steps in your own self awakening with clear metaphore and imagery. This books is fun to read. It puts a smile on your face. You will feel happier afterwords and on the way to being a more spiritually centered person, especially if you do the exercises included.

The story by itself is engaging, powered by lush descriptive language and a masterful plot structure. The tasks and exercises invite the reader to see more completely the profound truth of self. All of this is enhanced by the inclusion of a CD guiding the reader through many of the meditations. This exceptional book can be experienced individually. An even deeper awareness is built by working through the book in study groups. Many books promise transformation; this one delivers.
