I loved this!

If such a place existed harboring 213 single braw Scotsmen, would you be tempted to travel to Falgannon in search of a husband? The Isle is cursed you see, there is a shortage of marriageable women...or actually truth be told there are no marriageable women on Falgannon besides B.A. Montomerie and she does not count. B.A. Montgomerie was the only person that could break the curse being held against Falgannon Isle; she just needed a black haired, green eyed Outlander to fall in love with. Montgomeries were a stubborn breed and if one finds love, they'll resort to chaining a man up in their bedroom if it comes down to it. Upon trying to play matchmaker for the single Scots, B.A. finds herself falling in love with the green eyed warlock that came in with the Vikings. Desmond Mershan had one thing on his mind and that was Revenge, he promised his mother and himself that the Montgomeries would pay for the pain they've caused. Only he had no idea the spell B.A. Montgomerie would weave into his heart could be his downfall. He planned on using her and her body and then taking what was rightfully his, the northern one third of Falgannon Isle. But neither would give in or give up without a fight. The Curse must be broken before any woman can produce female children. It is all up to B.A. and Desmond to come together in love to save the life of the Falgannonions. When B.A. finds out the truth about Desmond, she still does not give up the hope of everlasting love between them. It takes a tug of war and a kiss of near death to realize, what was in the past should remain and keep your eyes open to the future. Deborah MacGillivray is a spell weaving author that has the magic to capture the reader's heart from the very start of her book, The Invasion Of Falgannon Isle. Bantering Scots, an over-fed chaperon kitty, and a cup of green goop that'll cure a hangover are but a few hidden treasures inside the cover of a fabulous Contemporary Romance that will grip your heart. A tear was shed a few times and then a river of tears flowed nearing the end, so when you read this story make sure the tissues are always near by. Seven sisters waiting love, one has already captured her green eyed man, and from what I can imagine this book is the first in a tantalizing series yet to come. I WILL have those books on my TBR list as soon as they reach the shelves. 5 Hearts to Ms. MacGillivray

A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!

I enjoyed every minute I spent with this book. I consider it exceptional in that it gives you romance and a fabulously strong leading lady and it brings about the ''catharsis'' of the hero in a believable way. I wish to thank Ms MacGillivray for this book. It made my month.

Brilliant and Spellbinding

A magical, engrossing read that will charge your every emotion from laughter to tears from beginning to end, as you follow the adventures and misadventures of wonderful characters you will never forget. You will want to turn those pages, but don't. Savor every delicious word of this one. B.A. Montgomerie is the owner of Falgannon Isle, a misty, Brigadoon-like spit of land in the Scottish Hebrides boasting 213 eligible bachelors looking for wives. The trouble is there's a curse on the isle. Unless B.A. marries a green-eyed, black-haired man who must be of Irish descent and one not born on the isle, those 213 anxious bachelors haven't a prayer of marching down the aisle toward a happy marriage, and neither will she. The fun begins when, despite the curse, B.A. advertises for what amounts to mail order brides for her island men, and outlander Desmond Mershan comes on the scene, a green-eyed, black-haired tortured hero of Irish descent, seemingly made to order only he's out for dark revenge against B.A. over old family issues. Things heat up when Desmond finds himself falling for the woman he has come to revenge himself against, and how he and B.A. deal with that will have you on the edge of your chair. I'll never tell. Stir into the mix a collection of zany, larger than life, true to their heritage characters that will steal your heart and keep you in stitches, and you have a recipe for enchantment. Last but not the least of these is, The Cat Dudley, the inimitable, magical, matchmaking, card-playing moggie you will never forget. Ms. MacGillivray's knowledge of all things Scottish both ancient and modern makes her a force to be reckoned with, and gives us the privilege of her incredible range. Her debut book, A Restless Knight, showcased her talent as a remarkable Historical Romance author. Now she has taken Contemporary Romance by storm with this fresh, imaginative and delightful romp through Falgannon Isle. You will never want to leave. I can't remember when a book brought a tear to my eye or made me laugh out loud. This one did. I highly recommend this excellent read by Deborah MacGillivray, and I can't wait for her next installment, and all those to follow!

Love Rules

Even though the book is a contemporary, the reader gets the feel of the past, probably because Falgannon Isle is secluded and not touched by crime, terrorism, and commercialism. The hero, Desmond Mershan,is a deeply conflicted man, torn between his love for B.A. Montgomerie, Guardian of Falgannon, and his vow to avenge his mother's hard life, due to B.A.'s dead grandfather crashing his financial empire which caused Desmond's father to commit suicide. However, this is not a dark novel. Macgillvray provides comic relief with the lovable, albeit it odd, single lads that inhabit the Isle. The Cat Dudley deserves a whole page for his character description, but I'll give you a hint. Don't play poker with that cat...especially if you've had a wee dram or two of "Beatha-stad". A very interesting read!

It made me laugh and cry...

This was just a wonderful story. The beginning had me laughing out loud several times. Having been to Scotland several times to visit relatives I could relate to this charming story. MacGillivray's prose put you into these people's lives and you really, really care for them. How you could not laugh at the islanders antics and cry over the sadness in Desmond's soul. B.A. was the perfect other half of Desmond. Wonderful, wonderful!
