I read the novel The Innocent Dark, probably 15 or 16 years ago. When the V C Andrews "flowers" series first came on the market, this nove l caught my attention. It seemed like a cheap knock-off. After I read the book, I was completely enthralled and could not wait for the continuation of the brother and sister story of shattered innocence. The book was more serious and adult oriented than the Andrews' novels and I cared what happened to the abused and tortured children more than I ever did for Cathy and her siblings in the other books. Then about a year later, the sequel "The Sinister Twilight" came out. It blew the first one out of the water. These 2 books had more of a horrifying story than all 5 of the Dollinger novels together.( Flowers in The Attic and all its sequels.) If you ever find these books, read them and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. The author is J. A. Forrester. If any of you out there know where I can get another copy of these 2 books let me know, please. Thank You. Richard Wilson c/o mik-spunky@prodigy.net

I read this book about 15 years ago. I have remembered it this long. I just wonder why the author did not write anymore books. And if they have I would love to read them. If you like John Saul, Or V.C. Andrews you will love this book!!
