While The Inclusive New Testament is certainly an inclusive-language translation, it is much more: it is a re-imagining of the Christian scriptures and our relationship to them. Not merely replacing male pronouns, the translators have rethought what kind of language has built barriers between the text and its readers. Seeking to be faithful to the original Greek, they have sought new and non-sexist ways to express the same ancient truths. The Inclusive New Testament is a fresh, dynamic translation into modern English, carefully crafted to let the power and poetry of the language shine forth-particularly when read aloud-giving it an immediacy and intimacy rarely found in translations of the Bible.
It is so nice to be able to read outloud to a group and not have to correct the text to be sure the language is inclusive.

I have been happy to recommend the series of translations of the Scripture by the Priests for Equality. Both THE INCLUSIVE NEW TESTAMENT and THE INCLUSIVE HEBREW SCRIPTURE are written with an ear to poetry. The power of God's Word rings forth with clarity with its message of love and compassion for all people and creation. I am most grateful to the Priests for Equality for a superb translation.

As an ordained minister, I'm always looking for tools to help spark my parishoner's interest and understanding of the Bible. The Inclusive New Testament is the best version of the Christian scriptures that I've found. Its inclusive language invites everyone into the story - no one is left out. It is easy and comfortable to read because it uses words that make sense. Because of its fresh, inclusive language, I am able to hear old familiar passages in a new way. It is the only New Testament that use in the pulpit. I eagerly await the completion of the Hebrew Scriptures.
It took me to a higher level of spirituality.

I have had this book for about a year now. I've picked it up from time to time and had a hard time getting used to it. The sexist language in my dog-eared, worn "regular" bible was so familiar. And even though it was sexist, how can you deny the power and words of scripture that have been repeated over and over since you were a child? Just today I returned from a week-long retreat. I took my all-inclusive new testament and my "regular" bible. By the end of the week, I had fallen in love with the all-inclusive. I can't ever go back again. I just ordered the all-inclusive psalms and can hardly wait till it arrives. And I understand that old testament is in the works. I wish I could pre-order. If you do purchase it, you may very well find, like I did, that first readings are unfamiliar and somewhat strange, but if equality is important to you, DON'T GIVE UP. Once these new words become familiar to you, they'll set your heart on fire.
