I read this book in the late 1970's and it highly influenced my feelings towards building restoration. The author's basic concept is repair what needs it but keep it looking as if it had been there all along. The book follows the author during his restoration of his home and is more about his philosophy of restoration than techniques of restoration. Well worth reading.
