The Ideal Wife

What exactly is the Ideal Wife? Is it a woman that marries a man only to have him transform her into 'something' or someone that she isn't comfortable with? Or is it a faithful, loving, God fearing, no-nonsense woman; these are questions that Lawrence will have to find out...the hard way for himself. What he wants in a woman VS what he needs in one. Jacqueline gives us a full story from the book Esther, Which includes vows, laws, obedience, and some bible studying. This book teaches the readers that you have to open your bible and read the scriptures for yourself; you cannot just believe what someone else tells you, regardless of what their position is, be it pastor, first lady, church member, nor elder. When you're being taught as children it's perfectly ok to cross reference and study the Word for yourself and with the guidance of the Lord. When Jana met Lawrence she believed she lucked up and caught the big fish, he was everything she wanted smart, sex, had money, and saved, but what she didn't know until after the I dos was that she was marrying a swinger, is there a such thing as a saved swinger? Jana must turn to the One who has all the answers and let Him guide her into the right direction.

Great Book!!!

This was another great book by Jacqueline Thomas. All I can say is you cannot go wrong with her books. She will never let you down!

"Ideal" gets a little twisted.

I've been a Jacquelin Thomas fan since the beginning of her career. My very favorites have always been Singsation and A Change Is Gonna Come and more recently Redemption. Just when you think an author couldn't write a better story, couldn't possibly tug at your emotions more than they already have...they do it. The Ideal Wife was not a book I thought I'd enjoy. The title suggested a woman working hard at being the perfect Biblical wife and that's been done a million times over in Christian publishing. What I didn't fathom was the criteria for "ideal" in this novel. Without giving it away, being "the ideal wife" had a whole lot to do with a room in the house that was no where near the kitchen or an ironing board. This story took us into the bedroom - you guessed it, the marriage bed and what tangled sheets they were. Ms. Thomas kept me in suspense with on the edge of the seat conflict and lots of "No he didn't" moments. I loved not knowing where this story was going. There were surprises around every corner, interesting characters and good, snappy dialogue. I also applaud her for dealing with this taboo subject, while bringing home several spiritual messages, one of the most resounding being that "we" need to be careful to not let others twist the meaning of the scriptures.

Tastefully Bold

Jacquelin Thomas has done it again. Tackling a bold (and perhaps controversial) subject with tastful presentation. How far would a young loving wife go to please her powerful and wealthy husband? A roller-coaster of emotions vs. godly conscience -- yet a strong moral lesson is revealed. A must read.

Thought Provoking

Jana thinks she has it all when she gives up Bible College and marries rich and powerful Lawrence Collins. Settling into a life of luxury, she soon learns that every thing has a price, including love. In The Ideal Wife, Jacquelin Thomas takes the ideology of submission to a whole new level. This novel not only ministers to women, but also challenges men to evaluate their motives for wanting The Ideal Wife.
