A Handy Supplemental Resource for Teaching Human Anatomy

With its clear and crisp line drawings, this well-written book offers instructors teaching students in grades 5 through 9 a handy supplemental resource, especially when they are stuck with a dull and poorly written primary textbook. The book, with its variety of activities, is especially useful in differentiating instruction, especially for students with mild cognitive disabilities. All systems - skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine, excretory, and sensory - are covered; a good variety of vocabulary and comprehension activities are offered. I would, however, supplement this book with the hands-on activities offered by "The Body Book" to offer a more well-rounded unit on human anatomy. That said, this book has been an attractive presentation and worthwhile investment.

The Human Body

This book is very suitable for 5-8 Grade. Student can almost work independently and learn the parts of the body. The answer sheet is located in the back of the book. Pictures are clear and makes it very easy for kids to identify body parts. My Kindergardener loves to work on this book with his older brother. They love to identify all the various part of the body from the names of the each tooth to the names of the muscles and the different body systems. This is a great work book to learn the parts of the human body. I highly recommended as a supplementary workbook.
