Good Supplement to 5 Lessons

Ben Hogan's "Five Lessons" is an excellent guide to learning the fundamentals of the full swing; I still strongly recommend it. However, after watching the videotape "In Pursuit of Perfection," I did notice some differences between the lessons in the book and how Mr. Hogan actually swung the golf club. A good example is the amount of lateral hip movement to start the second part of the swing. This book, "The Hogan Way," explains the movements that were excluded, or were not explained in greater detail, in "Five Lessons." I recommend that you read "Five Lessons" first and then read "The Hogan Way" to tie everything together.

most don't get it

Rest assured, The Hogan Way is excellent, and should be everyone's companion volume to Hogan's Five Lessons. Those who are saying otherwise have missed the boat entirely, or they have simply failed to read the book thoughtfully. Andrisani provides insight into Hogan's swing like no other has. He has done golfers a service by taking the bits and pieces of information regarding "Hogan's secret(s)" that have been bandied about in upteen publications and conviently recorded them in one location. Although I have modeled my swing from Hogan's prescriptions in Five Lessons, I have often had difficulty "getting it." Andrisani provides those 'missing links' necessary to complete the swing vis-a-vis Hogan. In short, he proffers clarity regarding those mechanical elements that Hogan either intentionally or unintentionally left hazy. My swing is more complete and certain now that has ever been, thanks to the insight of Andrisani. He does Hogan and fellow golfers proud. For those who doubt my words, read the text yourself. Do not let the negative reviews provided here be the judge and jury. Such would leave a plethora of golfers in want of what has now been provided. Andrisani's The Hogan Way delivers an ace.

Andrisani Has Done It Again

What seperates John Andrisani from other golf authors is his knowledge and passion for the great game of golf. He has found rare photos of the games greatest golfer and transformed them into a lesson plan of how to improve your game. What makes this book truly unique is that it combines golfs greatest player with golfs greatest author.

Secrets Revealed

It's too bad I was not able to give The Hogan Way six stars, because it certainly deserves that high rating. I have read numerous magazine articles and books looking to solve the mysteries of Hogan perfect swing technique. Finally and author has explained Hogan's swing secrets -- many that he never talked about or apparently was not aware of himself. Another reason I enjoyed this book so much is the photographs. Even in Hogan's bestselling book, Five Fundamentals, there were no photographs. In this one, a rare photographic sequence showing Hogan swinging, plus other photographs of this shotmaking master playing other shots, helped me understand Hogan's swing. A tremendous reference book that I will refer to throughout my golfing life.

Excellent Read

Takes you to another level in the analysis of the great Hogan. A must read if you've read Power Golf. Andrisani explains why Power Golf is not a book you want in your library.
