This local history book traces the beginnings of the football program at Dracut High School from 1934-1947. Until 1947 the young football program had seen some success and several years of turmoil and losing records. World War II stopped football altogether one year in Dracut. With the hiring of WWII Marine veteran Edmund Murphy in 1946, Dracut was on its way to becoming one of the best and most respected football programs in the Merrimack Valley.
