Outstanding Diet

Eighteen years ago I took the "Hilton Head Metabolism Diet" and lost 38 lbs. in six weeks. I made the mistake of not completing the diet by sticking to the maintenance plan, and not exercising on a regular basis; thus I gained a great deal of that weight back. During the course of my regular medical check up, it was noted that my cholesterol level had risen to 207. I decided to go back on the diet and this time I would complete it. I bought the "Hilton Head over 35 Diet" this time, and 10 weeks later I went from 200 lbs. to 164, but best of all I had lowered my cholesterol level from 207 to 119. The worse part is I had to buy a bunch of new clothes, but The diet is a winner in my opinion. This time, I promised myself to COMPLETE IT! By the way, my wife also went on the same diet and has lost 32 lbs. and is only 8 lbs. from her goal.

Awesome Book!!!

This diet doesn't feel like a diet. In the first 4 days, I lost 8 pounds. It has been 3 weeks and 12 pounds later. I have not lost so much weight, but have lost 10 3/4 inches. WOW!!! This book is perfect for us folks over 35 who need to lose a few pounds or a lot. I'm still at it and love it. The menus are great for those of us who are picky eaters. It is easy to substitute other items if you don't like something. I definately recommend this book.

finally something that works

I lost 16lbs. & 27inches in 1996 by exercising & 1200 cal. diet I quit too soon and gained the weight back but kept inches off by exercise alone. I guess you would call it a plateau. I started this diet on Mon. & lost 4 lbs. in 3 days., wow. I do not like fish and get tired of chicken. I've tried the menu thus far & it is really flushing out my system. Recipes are good and if I think they are too complicated and nobody else wants them I am using the frozen variety. Same results, they work. How hard can that be. If I'm too hungry I'll adjust the protein because I go to the gym 5 days a week.

Most Successful Diet I've Ever Done!

I have been on numerous diets, only to feel terrible while on them, and only to gain back my weight within months of going off of it. This diet has been absolutely amazing! I've lost about 50 pounds in 4 months, almost effortlessly! The diet is very well-balanced; you don't cut any major food group (e.g., carbs). The portion sizes are a little hard to adjust to, and I found myself frequently hungry, but I adapted quickly. The exercise you must do is merely taking a moderate walk after two of your meals. I didn't even do the weight routine he suggests and still lost! The only drawback to this diet is that it takes a LOT of preparation time to make the recipes. There is also a great section on the psychology of weight loss and body image, which includes advice on how to avoid going off the diet. I highly recommend this book!

A complete, balanced and delicious way to lose weight.

I lost 9 lbs. my first week on the Hilton Head Over-35 Diet, 6 lbs. the second week and 4 lbs. the third week. The meals were delicious. I did follow the menu plan. I felt wonderful: Light and full of energy. I was very much impressed with the immediate results and they are long-lasting. You will not gain back the weight you lose when you resume normal eating. He includes a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and some meat in this well-thought-out plan. Exercise is also key in this diet, but all you have to do is walk...The menus and recipes are a little tough but they are well worth the effort. My family and friends love me for introducing them to the diet.
