Universe Sent Me This Book

I purchased a used book, knowing there’s some writing in it but I welcomed more knowledge (thinking the writing was more notes bout herbs). But when I opened the first page, it was a letter for a person with the exact same name as me….. and I was astounded at the coincidence for it was like a parallel universe happened or something. Like that book really was for me…. But had a partner named George and their parents are still together lol. Thank you for this surprise. I ordered it on my birthday

Does not include herb lore.

I purchased this book because the description said that it covered history and lore for each plant. While it does have a quick sentence on historical uses for each herb, there is not mention of the herb lore. I'm extremely disappointed. This book is best for someone looking to cultivate and propagating herbs instead of someone looking for their historical/mythological context or culinary uses.

Great starter book on herbs.

I recently attended a Master Gardner training and this book was one of two recommended by the presenter who spoke on herbs. I came home and quickly went on line to order a copy. As soon as it arrived I began to pour through the pages. The book is well organized, the photos are good and the text is easily read. I wasn't too thrilled with the recipe section but the other 90% of the book is well worth the price.

A must for herb lovers

Excellent book. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in herbs. Many pictures and details, you can't go wrong.
