A greate taste of excellence

Excerpts from novels, or the entire short stories by nineteen different authors. Almost all are gripping, riveting, and well done. Only a few weren't worth reading. Greats like Jack London, Thor Heyerdhal, Apsley Cherry-Gerrard, Jon Krakauer, Joseph Conrad, Arthur Conan Doyle, Tom Wolfe, Arthur C. Clarke, Sir Francis Chichester. A keeper in only to remind me to read the full book in some cases. Being a "keeper" means it's worth it. We have a zero tolerance rule in our house - if you keep a book, one has to go out; so this one will be replacing a previous keeper.
