BACK TO THE SIXTIES

While Googling "Good Humor" for a food blog I bumped into one of my favorite Golden Books from over 40 years ago. I used to read this to my sister who was a toddler back then. I remember we could recite all the flavors by heart! The illustrator is Tibor Gergely, whose name I have never forgotten!! An adorable book for the little kid in your life. Or the little kid in your heart!

A very cute classic!

This book is such a great little story for toddlers and up. It's a story about the good humor man and all the people he meets during his deliveries. Our particular favorite part of this story is when they show where all the ice cream and novelties are made. It's like looking at the summer version of Santa's toyshop but with ice cream. It's just very, very cute and our little one just loves it. It's quite colorful and even tells the story of friendship. Great classic, a true must for today's library. Highly recommend!

The Good Humor Man: An American Tradition

This is one of the best of the older Golden Books. As an ice cream man myself I can relate to the variety of characters that make this book so special. Often I give copies of this Golden Book to my best customers and local libraires for their summer reading programs. I hope that children of all ages continue to enjoy The Good Humor Man in fact and fiction.

Good Humor Great Humor

From the catalog of Little Golden Books. One of the really delightful books they put out in the 60's. The illustrations are the best and harken back to a simplier time. The charming story that will bring a smile to your face. Little Golden has such a wonderful back catalog I wish they'd get on the stick and start reprinting some of these gems from the 40's/50's. Especially from the illustrator of Corrine Malvern. A nice addition to your collection.

Follow the Good Humor Man as he delivers ice cream

Such a sweet story for children. The story and the pictures have a real "old fashioned" classic feel. It tells of the daily trek of the Good Humor Man as he delivers ice cream and cheer to the town of Fun Valley. My son loved the character "Johnny Slow-Poke" and his fat little puppy--always late to get their ice cream.
