Wonderful book for young people to understand ancient times!

As an archaeologist and teacher of "First Cities" for middle school students, I highly recommend this delightful tale of ancient Sumer. Ms Cowley not only did her research beautifully and authentically but also her characters seem very real, even though the story takes place about 5,000 years in the distant past. In fact, I just put the book on a bibliography that I created for a presentation of "First Cities" that I gave to an auditorium full of 6th graders.
