Outstanding!

I am usually dissapointed by alot of contemporary Christian fiction. The stories are good, but the prose is very average. In Dean Brigg's first effort, this was not the case. I was hooked within the first few pages and could not wait to turn to the next page! My adrenaline peaked from the start and never let up.Christian writers who can hold their own with today's best-selling authors are hard to find. The God Spot is a great read and I only wonder why Dean Briggs is not talked about more.

this is my favorite book--EVER (well, next to the Bible :) )

what can I say!? I've read TONS of books, Christian and non-Christian. This book was so well-written it's amazing. I was so sucked into the storyline. If you enjoy sci-fi, this book is definitely for you, whether you're a Christian or not. The characters are so well-detailed, you feel like you know them. Briggs clearly did much research on the medical portions of the story, to keep it all factual (at least, as much as possible for a fiction! :) However, even people not familiar with medicine/biology will be still able to follow right along easily.Best of all was the way Briggs tied the plot all-together. Everything is very interesting throughout the book, but most times it's a little hard to see how it all correlates. But eventaully you see all these tons of people's lives intertwine--definitely a hard-earned 5 stars!! I just want to know when Brigg's next book will be out.

scientific thriller

I enjoyed this book very much. It provokes one to think that conversion to Christianity could be much more that a transparent, purely spiritual event. Why couldn't the act of spiritual regeneration literally begin a regeneration of the body as well? And logically it would be in the brain involving neurotransmitters as Briggs has cleverly conceived it. Readers with medical interests will find this book a good read.

The God Spot is a Home Run in my book!

If you like This Present Darkness or The Visitation, you'll enjoy The God Spot as well. I particularly liked Briggs attention to detail. He makes you feel as though you are there, participating! Slow start, excellent the rest of the way. Definitely worth it.

Briggs is off to an excellent kick start!

I honestly believe that THE GOD SPOT is one of the best Christian novels released in 1999. The author, Dean Briggs, is off to a good start as a novelist. It does take some time to get into the story. After 80 pages, I was wondering where the story was going. But after the hundred-page mark, the race is on, and you don't want to put the book down! Briggs makes the medical world understandable to the secular reader in the book. He also does a very good job of giving depth to his characters and their personalities. It's just like watching a movie. The text is very graphic and interesting. Briggs really makes you like some characters and hate some others.Another thing I like about the story is that it could actually happen, and it might even be happening, although not on the same scale as it happens in the book.I sincerely hope Dean Briggs rites a sequel to THE GOD SPOT!
