An intriguing religious thriller

When undesirable knowledge came forth in the ancient world, claims of heresy were the ultimate censorship. "The Gnostic Mystery" follows Jack Stanton and his companion Punjeeh as they visit the holiest city in the world, Jerusalem. In search of fate, Jack finds more than he could have ever hoped with Gnostic scrolls, allegedly by the original followers of Jesus. "The Gnostic Mystery" is an intriguing religious thriller, sure to entice readers of novels such as The Da Vinci Code.

A good account of the Gnostic religion.

This book was truly enlightening. I enjoyed it from the very beginning. Having not been raised in any specific religion I'm a little lost when it comes to some of the stories and characters in The Bible. I do know the basics and the older I get, and the more I read, I'm beginning to piece together a fuller understanding of The Bible. I had never heard of the Gnostics before reading this book. So I was coming to this one with a complete open mind. I think that is part of why I enjoyed this so much. The revelations made about Gnostic beliefs and current Christian beliefs seemed plausible to me. But, again I have a limited knowledge of The Bible, and an even more limited relationship with it. This was not an action filled book. The things that the characters did was kind of a sub story, at least in my opinion. The main story was really a historical account of the Gnostics. There is a plot and there are things that happen that move the story along, but these events are not integral to the story. I think this was very well written and I didn't get the feeling that it was trying to discredit modern Christian beliefs. I think the book takes the stance of: Here's some things that happened in The Bible and here's what people believe about them. One more than one occasion it is mentioned that just because it is believed that some don't count The Bible as an accurate historical account does it make Jesus' teachings any less valuable? I would say that it doesn't, but that's just my opinion.

5 Stars all the way

I loved this book. It was a quick read for me, I found myself hardly able to put it down. The book was well written and I loved the interaction with Jack, Chloe, Punjeeh, & the Professor. Reading the descriptions of Israel, the author was so descriptive and made you feel like you were actually there. It reminded me of a cross between Da Vinci Code and maybe the action of Indiana Jones. I highly recommend it!

The Truth Is Finally Revealed!

I found your book captivating. It peeled away layers of a belief system that has been in place for hundreds of years. I was left with a deep since of peace as I always felt the traditional church teachings of fear and guilt were not a part of Jesus's message and this book confirms that. And halleluiah, someone finally had the courage to say what many of us always doubted, but I won't give that away and ruin your surprise. Thank you for this novel, which is loaded with revealing facts.

Divinely Inspired

The Gnostic Mystery is, without a doubt, one of the best books I have read in ages. I read this book in one sitting (something I have not done in ages). While Davila spins a tale that is both intellectually provoking and historically fascinating, his message is one that acts as a soothing balm for all of us who question the true meaning of our spiritual purpose. Unlike any book I have read, I experienced numerous times of almost sheer grace while reading his words, as though every spiritual great that has come before were reaching through his words to remind us of the truth of God's message. Regardless of one's religous backround, this book will entertain and inspire. Living in a day where the message of love, acceptance, tolerance, kindness, and hope is frequently lost in dogma, Davila's message is a beacon of light to all.In addition to penning an enourmously fun read, Davila also manages to present one of the most insightful accountings of the Gnostics as I have ever read. Whether you crave a gentle reminder of all that is pure in a time where we continue to kill and judge others based on our egocentric notions of truth and falsehoods, or are simply looking for a great read, The Gnostic Mystery is sure to be a favorite for all.
