Wow this was a good book,... This is a magical story aabout a journeyman magician (Jaylor) who goes on a quest to rescue the prince darvile. His quest involves great dangers as he finds out more about himself, the evil one, and the witch woman (Brevelan) who is the daughter of lord krej and has powers different of the commune of magic just as jaylor does. This book has found a way into the top 5 of the books I have read and I dont normaly even like to read so this book does leave an impression. ... Well I hope you read and enjoy this book, so long.

Great for Dragon Lovers!

Since everyone else seemed to be giving this book a not-so-good review, I thought it deserved some praise! I really enjoyed this series. I thought all of the characters had very distinct personalities and the dragons (especially in the last two or so books) are very neat and different from other dragons as one can see by the cover. Irene Radford's descriptions were extremely vivid, and I think she deserves more praise. As in most fantasy novels, you've got to read the whole series! Overall, I think this was an excellant little fantasy novel, especially if you love dragons.

This Mages comment on the book.

This book has a lot of good imagery in it. If you are one who loves to read about Dragons, I would highly recomend it. There is a commonality 'tween love, magic, and friendship that is brought together very nicely in this book. I found myself eager to read the next book (which I recomend you have handy). Radford's writings echo the picturesque imagery that is in Natalie Babbit's book Tuck Everlasting.

Extremly Spell-binding

This is one of the best fantasy books I have ever read! The characters keep you guessing as to what they will do next. I highly suggest you read it, and its sequels.

A great book

I loved this book. The author wrote so beautifuly this tale fantasy, love and adventure. I really felt the characters hearts aching as my own heart ached to save them when they were in trouble. I am now almost finished with the third book in the series and I planning to read the histories. I recommend this book to anyone that likes fantasy, science fiction or just likes to read a good story.
