A masterpiece of institutional slavery and female domination
Probing the lowest levels of the outwardly respectable London headquarters of Shiller plc, Vanessa Buckingham stumbles into a hidden world of twenty first century slavery. Turned into a living puppet by Shiller's enigmatic director, Vanessa is forced to record every detail of the slave-girls' lives; from intimate psychological testing at the mysterious Fellgrish Institute,...
Vanessa, a reporter for the Globe, is assigned to infiltrate the Schiller Corp to look for suspicious activates. She doesn't have to try too hard as the company is running a slave girl operation with willing subs. The characters--except for Vanessa--are not as well developed as in the previous books by this author nor is the strong element of whimsy present. There is some humor but again not as much as the previous books. The plot has a nice twist but the outcome is rather as expected. If you like BDSM, Ds and a little MS you will like this book. Well written and a very good read. Adriana Arden is by far the best of the Nexus authors. Some subtitle changes in stile and a lack of innovative appliances as well as of the whimsical humor found in the previous books make me think that Nexus may have run in another author. Still good though. (They probably have 10 different authors writing as Penny Birch.)
