Great bites of murderous fun

A Gift of Murder is a great anthology of Christmas-themed stories. From the light-hearted (an elf investigates a child to see if he should be moved to the naughty list) to the dark (a police detective investigates the killing of a home intruder), all the various holiday themes are covered. There was only one story I didn't particularly care for and it would be hard to pick a favorite. If I had to choose, I'd probably pick the Worst Noel. Doesn't everyone have a perfect sibling that mom loves best? I had heard of very few of the authors prior to reading the anthology. After finishing the book, I immediately picked up the anthologies available on Kindle from previous years and I'll definitely check the authors out for other works.

Great Cause - Great Collection

Plain and simple this is a great selection of stories. All type of mysteries. Short stories that are quickly available when there isn't time for a long read. I've enjoyed all of them -- but I especially liked - "Caught on Christmas" by Earl Staggs. You won't be dissapointed with this Christmas collection of mysteries.

The Gift of Murder

Another great read from Wolfmont filled with holiday crime stories that will entertain you. Several of the stories are humorous. Here are some of my favorites: The Kindle Did It, by Gail Farrelly. I'm not going to describe this one for fear of giving too much away, but the story will make you chuckle. The Worst Noel by Barb Goffman, tells the story of a dysfunctional family and to what lengths they'll go to get even. The Werewolf's Christmas, by Bill Crider, mixes humor with a little romance when two werewolves discover each other. Jingle Bell, S.I. by Randy Rawls is about one of Santa's elves who's sent to look into wrongdoing. Every one of them made me laugh. Here are some more of my favorite stories with a more serious tone: In The Gift of Christmas Past by Kris Neri, a woman finds a way to repay a favor done her in the past. An Unexpected Gift by Deborah Elliot-Upton, is a story about a man who breaks into a home and finds an unexpected welcome. The Gift of the Margi by Peg Herring gives us a woman who loves her family enough that she will take any measures she feels necessary to protect them. This is a book that would make a great gift for someone on your Christmas list or just as a gift to yourself. It's a great read!
