worth the wait

I've looked for this book for nearly two decades. So glad I finally found it. Ms. Gilluly draws a detailed, rich world with a sense of history. She's not afraid to interject tragedy that keeps the reader from complacent belief that all the characters will survive. I anticipate a satisfying, but not a happily-ever-after, ending to the third book. I can't understand why Sheila Gilluly isn't still writing.
