Excellent!

When I first picked up this book, I did not know what to expect. 2 Hours later, I finished it and truly enjoyed it. Josh is just a normal 12 and a half year old boy, going on summer vacation. He decides to try out for the summer baseball team, and makes the cut. But, he soon later finds out that his plans will be deminished when his parents tell him that they are going to have to go away to India for work. Josh ends up being taken into the hands of his Stepfather's great Aunt Ethel, (Which makes her is great-great aunt,) who lives on the outskirts of Carbon City, an old mining area in Wahington. Josh's first impression of Aunt Ethel is that she is a total wackjob because the first ten mintues of him being in her house was filled with a shotgun, blood on a cake, and a dead bat behind the cabinets. So much for a good first impression. Josh thinks that it will be the most boring summer ever, because of the fact that 1. Aunt Ethel has no TV, computer, or really any other electronic device other than a radio, and 2. That Aunt Ethel and himself are the only two people for miles. When Aunt Ethel suggests that Josh go to adventure in her old treehouse in the woods that she used to share with her deceased sister, Florence, he decides to take his books along with him to read there. He later finds out that the treehouse isn't just any ordinary tree house; it is haunted. By a close end of the novel, Josh is at gunpoint questioning himself whether or not he will live or die. Sorry, this is just a brief summary of parts of the book. I'll leave the rest for you to find out. All in all, this book is packed with mystery, a little bit of horror (If you call sweet ghosts horror,) and a grand closing.

SPOOKTACULAR!

This was a really fun and spooky ghost story. I loved when the ghost appeared. He was a great character and his history added a rich backstory to the mystery. The ending was really exciting, too. And I also loved the subplot focusing on the plight of abandoned animals. GREAT BOOK!!!

Peg Kehrets mystery machine

The Ghosts Grave by Peg Kehret is a book about a kid named Josh who makes freinds with a ghost named willie. Josh met the ghost in the forest by his aunt Ethel's house. He was at his aunts house that entire summer because his mom and his stepdad went to India for their jobs. Willie makes a deal with Josh that if Josh reburies his leg by the creek where the rest of his body lies that he would see if a peacock who aunt Ethel says is her sister Florence is really Florence. What Josh thought was going to be a boring summer turned out to be one of the most exiting summers of his life!!! I think the books message was to never be afraid of somone because they're different. I liked the book because I felt like I was in the book and because of its exiting verbs.

A mystery story

A mystery story The Ghost Grave by Peg Kehret is about a boy named Josh who goes to his aunt's because his stepdad has to go to work. At his aunt Ethel's House he finds a tree house and in the tree house is a ghost named Willie who died in a mining accident. Josh and Willie become friends. Later in the book, Josh is digging in the grave yard because Willie wants his leg bones burried with the rest of his body. Josh finds a metal box that has money in it. There is a robber who tries to steal the money. You should read this book to find out if the robber gets arrested or gets the money. I like this book because it is a mystery story. if you read this story you won't want to stop reading it.

Willie's Leg

Summer had just begun when Josh moved to a new town. He thought he might join a summer baseball league to make some new friends. When he told his mom about it she had some bad news. Turns out, his step dad has to go to India for his job and his mom is going with him. Where is Josh going to stay? At his great aunts whom he's never met before. When he gets off the train he is greeted by an older lady with a beat up pick-up truck. Her house is gross and the first night wasn't too good considering his aunt shot a bat in the house. Things get better when he finds an old tree house in the woods behind his aunts house. Josh brought books out there and a bean bag to read. He left and when he returned to the tree house the books weren't where he left them. Suddenly a ghost pops into the window. The ghost wants to ask a favor of Josh. This ghost, Willie, wants Josh to dig up his leg and bury it with the rest of his body. Will Josh do it or will he run off and never go back again? I loved this book! it was a total mystery and that is what I have always loved to read. I was done with this book in three days! That is a record for me. I usually don't get into reading, but this book was just great. I didn't have any dislikes. I liked the whole book. I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries and it is a book that can be read by boys and girls.
