Old Fashioned Ghost Hunting!

Review of Peter Underwood's "The Ghost Hunter's Guide." Alright! I admit it. I was ghost hunting before ghost hunting was "cool." In 1988 one of my first inspirations was author Peter Underwood, then the President of the Ghost Club Society in England (founded in 1851). It was then that I purchased the new "Ghost Hunter's Guide," a text the likes of which I had never read before. At that time I was traveling between Massachusetts and other states and I was implementing all of the techniques, tips and tricks as suggested by Underwood to verify any "ghostly encounter" that I could. Unfortunately after years of trying I came up empty-handed. With The Ghost Hunter's Guide as a resource I was using analog thermometers, 35 mm SLR cameras, chalk dust, zener cards, cassette tape recordings, voltmeters, and other mundane equipment that seems simplistic now to record the presence of "otherworldly" entities. Ah, those were the days. Regardless, this is one of the books that started it all and Peter Underwood, in my opinion, is one of the World's most accomplished Ghost Hunters. Although not in print, this book is absolutely worth the money if you can find it from a used vendor. The techniques are valid and the advice comes from the proverbial "horse's mouth." I rate this text at five stars without hesitation or reservation. JP
