One of the best Warriors books

I really like this warrior book when I got it from the public library I just had to get it but now I’m on the night whispers one.I can’t help but saying this !spoiler alert! Hollyleaf does die Sadly it came with no full color map and I did get it hardcover.

A New Outlook On Warriors

When I started reading this book I had very low expectations. This was because the Power of Three books had ended on such a low and sad note (Hollyleaf dies). But, as I started reading I quickly realized how much this series needed Hollyleaf's death to kick off the series. This is the type of book where the reader starts loving it in the first chapter. The Summary: Still grieving over the death of their sister Hollyleaf, Jayfeather and Lionblaze begin the search for the third cat in the Prophecy. Then two kits are born Ivykit/Ivypaw and Dovekit/Dovepaw. Then, Lionblaze realizes that Dovepaw, his apprentice, can see and hear things no other cat can see, including creatures that are creating a dam to stop the flow of water to the lake!!!!!! With the water amount dropping rapidly no cat is sure if it is a good choice to send cats to fix the problem. Also, tension between Ivypaw and Dovepaw rise. Will the sisters become enemies? Finally, the choice is made. They will send cats to see if the river is blocked. But will any of them return alive? As the other cats go on their quest to see if the river is blocked Jayfeather deals with problems near home. You will find that you ask the questions that I mentioned, and you'll get them!! If you love books, if you hate books, if you're neutral you'll love this book.

excellent and suspenseful reading

I have read all the other series and this book is by far the best reading. It made me feel as if I was right there sitting with them at the lake. Cats are truly amazing animals. My mom buys me all the books. This is a collection that i will forever keep.

Warriors Books are Great

Wow, another fantastic book of the Warrior cats. I just can't get enough of that wonderful world of the clans. This book did not dissappoint. It kept me up at night reading, not wanting to put it down. It follows the adventures of Dovepaw as she learns about the prophecy from Jayfeather and Lionblaze. Very exciting and the story sucks you right in. The only thing I didn't like is that it ended too soon. I could have kept reading and reading more and more. I was surprised when I already reached the end. But then I guess that's to get me anxious for the next one. These books are very addicting and I love every one of them.

Cats & Adventure

Reviewed by Ben Weldon (age 11) for Reader Views (12/09) "Warriors: Omen of the Stars: The Fourth Apprentice" by Erin Hunter is a great turning point in the series because the third cat in an ancient prophecy is finally revealed. A terrible drought has struck the cats' territory. All that remains of the formerly grand lake is a small brackish pool which is now fought over by the four clans. All the little animals that the cats rely on for food are dying or dead. The plants are withering. Two cats, Lionblaze and Dovepaw, must go on a dangerous mission to save the clans. Jayfeather must deal with problems closer to home. The cats have survived many things before, but can they survive this? When a young cat, Dovepaw, has a vision of a beaver dam blocking the river that feeds the lake, will anyone believe her? Thankfully Lionblaze believes her; for he, like Dovepaw, has a powerful special ability, and he is able to convince the clan leader, Firestar, to send a patrol to remove the blockage. Will they be able to defeat the beavers and dismantle dam before it is too late and all the cats die of thirst? Erin Hunter has written many Warriors books (a whole three series) about four clans of cats that have constantly changing alliances and even wars. The cats' ultimate enemy is the twolegs (humans) who have destroyed the cats' original habitat and continue to terrorize the cats and threaten them with monsters (cars, bulldozers etc...). The books were all very good and were so well written that you can just pick this one up and read it without having read the preceding books. This book, like all her others, ends with a cliff hanger and you will be reaching for the next book. An interesting factoid about Erin Hunter is that she is not one, but three people. That's why the Warriors books keep coming out very fast. I would recommend "Warriors: Omen of the Stars: The Fourth Apprentice" to people who like cats and adventure. This was a very intriguing book and once you pick it up you won't want to put it down. This is the most recent book in a long Warriors saga, but it was so well written that you can just pick it up and start reading. I can't wait for the next book.

One of the Three...

I had been anticipating this read for such a long time that as soon as it came out, I ordered it. When it arrived at the house, I nearly tripped over so many things rushing to read it. In "The Fourth Apprentice", Jayfeather and Lionblaze are trying to find the last cat that will have special powers like them. There is also a severe drought caused by the fact that there is no water flowing in from the stream and into the lake. I finished this book so fast - almost too fast, if you ask me. I guess I'll just have to sit and wait until the next comes out. Read it. You will not be disappointed!
