great educational book

As a retired school teacher, I am delighted with books that offer an opportunity for "teachable moments". Not only does this book provide a lovely story, but the illustrations are fun and dynamic, with a nice mix of interesting situations and characterizations. Teachers and parents alike will appreciate this book, especially if they are working with a real cross section of what our country actually looks like today in our schools and neighborhoods. I would hope to see more on this theme from this author/illustrator. I alos loved their other book.

Written by two adoptive mothers

"The Forever Friends Club" is the third book on adoption for kids and adults. Addressing the issue of "feeling different" in a unique fashion, "The Forever Friends Club" creates new rules for acceptance and friendship in a special group of kids. Written by two adoptive mothers, "The Forever Friends Club" tells the story of four young friends who create their own understanding of the rules of acceptance/exclusion and in so doing, enrich each others lives forever.

A Child's prospective

I though the book was very well written, the illustrations were adorable. I have a 2yr foster child and I love to read to her. I think this book will be perfect for her when she is older to help her understand adoption a little better and let her know she is wanted and belongs no matter how she came to us. I also can't wait for more stories from this author.

I can't wait to share with my little ones

I really enjoyed the book. It was nice to see characters where the adopted child is not the minority in their circle of friends. It talks about adoption for the child's perspective and I love that. I loved all of the listings of what the kids did and are known for, it is great repetition that children really enjoy.

Great for all kids

I really enjoyed The Forever Friends Club. I thought the kids going > through the play adoption of Sam in the story would be useful to help prepare an older
> child for what a court appearance for adoption might be like or to help add detail to a child's adoption story as they start to grow up and understand more. It's also great to help kids with friends who were adopted increase their understanding of the process. I liked the different perspective, too, since the majority of the children in the
> book were adopted and Sam actually feels a little left out that he wasn't.
