My name is Meshair. I was born and raised in one of the most religious countries in the world, or perhaps the most religious country in the world, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. when I was ten years old, I had an incident that changed my life, my belief in religion and society. As a woman, it is more difficult to be raised in that society as there are many rules that apply to women and very few options. This is a story about how I managed to deal with society and religion; how I put up with my surroundings and how I managed to miraculously walk away from the entire nation by leaving the country. Also, I share stories and thoughts of how I saw the outside world. Perhaps, small things individuals don't realize or if they do are just not a big deal-a story of how traveling affected my life.I felt freedom after I left home, and this feeling made me so powerful. When I managed to realize that I could actually go where I want, when I want, dressed as I want, eat, and drink what I want is when I felt absolute freedom. It felt like dancing with my soul on the beach under the moonlight, and nature is my music.According to what people believe in-whether it is religion, love, freedom, music-some might think I am shamefully rebellious, and others might think I am shamelessly rebellious.
