Clever, witty work

If you like Freeman Wills Crofts "timetable" mysteries, then this is right up your alley. A good read with some outstanding characters.

British from the Golden Era

Knox wrote "serious" works but I don't want to read those. I really love his mysteries. I've only read two of them, and fear that there may be no others. They are SO well written, and his characters use classic upper class slang from the period between the wars. The first twenty pages made me laugh so hard I had to explain what was so funny to the waitress in the restaurant where I was waiting for take-out food.
