Good Book

This book offered some good tips on job searches however I have found other places more helpful. One extremly helpful site is [...]. This website has a huge listing of jobs and they are all directly from employer websites. I have found this site to list more jobs by far than any other job board site. Very helpful site! Go check it out.

Gives you the Tools to go out and Get a job

I did a career workshop with the author, and it was very helpful and inspiring. This was just before Enron and the bursting of the Internet bubble, and he implored us NOT to accept stock option plans because he knew what was coming. When people think of searching for a job, they think of things like the newspaper ads, monster.com and other internet sites, or scanning around the community for help wanted signs. This is a PASSIVE approach to a job search. This workbook is an active approach, designed first to help you build a specialized resume and target a job that plays to your strengths and abilities. 70%-85% of all jobs that change hands are never advertised. By some of the easy techniques in this workbook, you can learn to network (talk to people) and learn about possible opportunities. It even includes help with the interview (Always walk in the door FOUR MINUTES early, no earlier or later) and even how to negotiate a salary. Hey, it's hard work getting a job. It's like, well,...a job. The book guarantees that if you fill the book out and do what it says, you will get job offers. I would recommend this book to anybody interested in a job-search.

A basically helpful book

I reviewed this book in the annotated bibliograhy of Learning A Living; A Guide to Planning Your Career and Finding A Job for People with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, and Dyslexia. I was impressed with it. This is what I said;Covers the entire job search process from setting up your home office to negotiating salary. This book provides mnany forms and worksheets. Forms include over 50 already-printed index cards for each person you contact, a pre-interview worksheet that may help you structure your research, a daily plan, and a "Sunday Night Scorecard" that enables you to track your progress. Some of the forms use small print. You'll need a photocopier to get copies. On the other hand, this system would work for a person who has sufficient reading and writing skills to use it and who needs structure. The book is aimed a full-time job seekers from entry to mid-level.
