The best cookbook in my collection

As a chef, and a world traveller, I have had the opportunity to learn from the very best. This is the best cookbook I own. The recipes are authentic and extremely detailed. The Coq au Vin and the pork & prunes recipes will become instant favourites.

Food of France: A Taste of La Belle France

My wife and I bought this book on impulse when we saw it at Costco several years ago. We have NEVER, EVER regretted the decision. We find this book to be an incredible resource in our kitchen -- we have some well-worn recipes: Lemon Tart, Duck with Raspberries and Black Currants, and others that we try on regular occasions. These aren't always the simplest recipes, and I find I do improvise at times for the harder to find ingredients, but I would be truly sad if I lost this book from my kitchen. We made a seven course Thanksgiving dinner this year using this book, and it was wonderful -- a must have for ANY cook.

The food of France - A food lover's journey

After a recent trip to France I decided that I would like to prepare some of the local fare. I had heard about this book from a friend of mine and decided to try it. I have prepared many of the recipes that I had tried in France and am really pleased with their authenticity. The book is easy to use and understand.

Excellent for beginners!

This is an excellent introduction to French cuisine. Many famous dishes are here in a straightforward and not overly complex format. This may not be for purists who want the authentic, real deal. But I have found this book a great help in learning how to cook some well-known French dishes. Most ingredients are readily available and the results have been great!

This book rocks!

I have seen many books of French food, but this one has excellent recipes! with great pictures, detailed steps and sections that take you into the heart of the cuisine!
