The Flowering Tree, The Child of Peace is both a prequel and a sequel to another book set on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, Grave Sight. The main characters the Grave Sight are Virgil Half Moon and Jodi Brooks. The current book provides background and continues the story that begun earlier. In these pages you'll meet Jonas, son of Jodi and Virgil, and Priscilla, known as Lila, their daughter, who is designated as the Flowering Tree, from the signs around her birth and Lakota legends. Prophecies don't always fulfill desires.While trying to remain true to the intent of my story, I have taken liberties with Lakota history and traditions. I suggest reading Grave Sight first for a better understanding of the events in The Flowering Tree, The Child of Peace.
