A good story dealing with true-to-life issues...

I don't know what is wrong with most of these reviewers, but this is one of the best books that I have ever read. What life doesn't contain many issues? I enjoyed the way that she made the events of the story believable by doing (obvious) research into the religious aspect of this book. I had heard that she was not as good a writer as her sister, so I was hesitant about reading this book. This woman has her own style. She can't be expected to write like her sister. I'm glad I picked this up. I highly recommend this book.!

Strong Conviction!!!

A compelling story of love. How one incident changed the lives of so many families. This story moved me in a refreshing sense. It brought tears to my eyes that a tragedy had to take place in a family's life, for the family to realize too many secrets were destroying the family.I personally liked the scriptures that were sown throughout the book. I think it was a good read.

Excellent read for those with an open mind

The one thing people fight the most is change. Yet change is one of the few things in life that is constant. For those who are looking for a carbon copy of Ms. McMillan's previous novels, you will not find that with the 'Flip Side of Sin'. Ms. McMillan has grown as a writer. It is reflected in this book because it is her best written novel. As her audience, we should grow with her. The title is appropriate because we always look for and focus on the bad (sin). We never look for nor celebrate the good or the healing transition from past wrongs. She also tackles some serious issues in our inner cities and in the church. It is hard to follow in some places but it was well worth the journey. When a writer attempts to write good fiction, the story only entertains the reader. When a writer attempts to write great fiction, the story evokes emotions, entertains, informs, and makes you think. I believe great fiction is what was Ms. McMillan's goal. I believe she accomplished it. I look forward to her next novel.

a passionate heartfelt book

I truly enjoyed this book and will recommend it very highly. I read the reviews before reading the books and I was very disappointed because some of the comments that was made were not true in my opinion. Being a christian and a pastor's wife, I guess I could relate to some of the thing that Rosemary and Jesse had to face. I could actually feel the passionate that Rosemary experience with her love for God, Jesse and Issac. I was very impressed with Ms. McMillian display of the scriptures that went well with each chapter. Thank you once again for a well written book that I truly enjoyed. I pick it up and did not put it down until three days later. I cried and I rejoice. A very good book.

She's Done it Again!

Rosalyn McMillan has done it again with her keen knack for taking major issues and weaving them into wonderful stories that draw readers into familiar territory or exposes them to issues they were not aware of. Kudos to this literary giant whose books will be read many years from now!
