"The practice of Living and Dying"

The Final Crossing is an exquisite writing weaving allegory, Mayan culture, Native American wisdom and rites of passage with the real life death journey of Steven Foster. Steven's life was dedicated to the practice of dying to the past, in order to live a full and magnificent life. He with his beloved wife Meredith founded the School of Lost Borders. A wilderness school dedicated to providing a safe space in the natural world for people to participate in a "Vision Quest" ritual of dying to the old and rebirth of the new based on Native American teaching. In this book Scott brings the world of Hospice and Rites of Passage together. It is at times a tearful journey of a man walking through his last months of life on this earth; describing the process of closing one's life, denial, hope, anger and acceptance. As Hospice physician, Scott provides the secure space for this journey to unfold. Dianne John RN Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse
