Relavent Even Today

I stumbled across this book being used decoratively on a bookshelf in a furniture store. Amazingly, large expeditions are still trying to identify other wrecks as the Griffon - even today. The Griffon being the first sailed vessel on the upper Great Lakes, it is the holy grail for explorers. It appeared to me the MacLean had iron clad proof that he had found the Griffon. Apparently not everyone agreed. A gripping story of MacLean's search for the truth set in a backdrop of the ancient writings makes for a great read despite it being written 35 years ago.
