Easily Accessible and Immediately Usable

Out of several bookstore choices that are very long and distracting, comes this handy little pocket book of direct and concise information. Underlying themes in hypnosis such as "affirmative" commands to your sub-conscious only were very handy. A+ extra points for directing the reader to "not go out and spend a bunch of money on recording equipment" Hooray. He then tells you how to do it! Not everything in this books "hypnotic scripts" jived for me--but they needn't. He gives a wonderful guide/ outline for getting well on your way to practicing--on you.

Bastarache, D.D. was my first venture into the area of self-hypnosis. Interestingly enough, I found myself drawn into the work and couldn't put it down until I had read the last page. Wonder if Bastarache has built a self-hypnotic suggestion into this book? Whether you want to stop smoking, lose a bit of weight (and who doesn't?), want to improve your memory power, improve your reactions to family members or simply want to improve upon the way you see yourself, this book seems to cover it all. It is full of "positive" actions and provides simple, easy to do yourself exercises to put you into a hypnotic state and utilize it for good. There is a test allowing you the opportunity to find out just how suggestible to a hypnotic state you are personally. As for this reviewer, I was highly suggestible. Maybe that explains my desire to read this work until the last word. Alternatively, maybe it is just written that well! Either way, I found it a most enjoyable read and plan to give the weight loss exercise a go. Bastarache gives a reader many choices in the methods they use to reinforce their suggestion and make progress toward their self-hypnosis goals. It is an inexpensive method of achieving success. At $9.95, it is worth a try. Each exercise is positive reinforcement and that is worth any price you may pay.
